Job summary

KeyBank is seeking a Governance Manager - Credit & Lending to join the first line risk team, focusing on governance across the Commercial lending portfolio including Middle Market and Financial Sponsor relationships. You will translate data and risk insights into clear narratives for senior leadership and partner with business, risk, and control functions to support regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; industry experience preferred.
Experience in risk management, first line of risk, governance, or risk oversight.
Credit or lending knowledge within a Commercial or Banking environment.
Experience working in a highly regulated industry, preferably Banking or Financial Services.
Project management experience across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
Experience supporting regulatory exams, internal audits, or control reviews.
Demonstrated ability to present to senior leadership and executives.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; Salesforce and Tableau preferred.
Proven track record of creating, implementing, and sustaining governance or oversight processes.
Strong ability to analyze data, synthesize insights, and develop clear narratives.

Responsibilities

Support governance activities for the Commercial lending portfolio, including delinquency trends, forecasting, and risk themes.
Participate in risk profile assessments and governance reporting with business commentary.
Review risk acceptance requests for Middle Market and other Commercial lending activities.
Manage the Middle Market Financial Sponsor review process with documentation and forums.
Design and implement annual Financial Sponsor portfolio reviews with dashboards and insights.
Assist in monthly and periodic reviews for the Commercial loan portfolio.
Synthesize information into clear narratives for senior leadership.
Coordinate collection of documentation and evidence for regulatory exams and audits.
Track remediation of findings and action plans; collaborate with stakeholders.
