Job summary

OakNorth is hiring a Director for its Credit team in New York, focused on US C&I lower mid-market cash-flow lending. The role centers on evaluating and structuring new lending opportunities for growth businesses across healthcare, hospitality, leisure, financial intermediaries, and manufacturing.

Key responsibilities include sourcing loan proposals with deal teams, delivering credit recommendations to Credit Committees, reviewing term sheets and covenants, partnering with Legal and Loan

Qualifications

• 10+ years in credit risk or a related discipline.
• Strong experience in US C&I lower mid-market lending.
• Structured/leveraged finance experience including M&A and private equity exposure.
• Familiarity with credit risk concepts (RWA, PD, LGD).

Responsibilities

• Source and shape loan proposals with deal teams at an early stage.
• Deliver credit recommendations to Credit Committees.
• Review term sheets and covenant packages.
• Partner with Legal and Loan Execution through closing.
• Support portfolio management (increases, extensions, restructures, covenant resets).
