Job summary

Florence Bank in Florence, MA is seeking a Credit Analyst to analyze credit and financial data for commercial borrowers and prepare objective credit analyses to assist management in loan decisions. The role supports Loan Officers on client calls and helps develop loan proposals.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting (or equivalent experience), strong analytical and communication skills, and at least one year of credit experience in banking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business, finance, or accounting.
• Analytical ability and detail orientation to assess loan risk and structure.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• At least one year of prior credit experience in banking.
• Strong PC knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes credit and financial data to evaluate commercial borrower creditworthiness.
• Accompanies Loan Officer on business calls and assists in loan proposals.
• Prepares objective analyses of bank loans for lending officers and management.
• Analyzes financial statements and cash flows for profitability and liquidity.
• Spreads financial statements and maintains financial spreadsheets.
• Keeps current on credit policies and applicable laws.
• Gathers data for credit analyses and meets deadlines.
• Identifies loan portfolio risks and suggests risk-rating adjustments.
• Reviews real estate appraisals for accuracy.
• Prepares adversely classified loan memorandums.
• Performs annual credit reviews of largest borrowers.
