About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in evaluating credit requests, analyzing financial data, and supporting informed lending decisions that align with our credit union policies. Your expertise will help mitigate risk and ensure the delivery of responsible financial solutions to our members. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in credit analysis or commercial lending, with a passion for translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insights. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with lenders and internal teams, contributing to the growth and stability of our credit portfolio while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have between 3 to 5 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or a related financial role. A solid understanding of financial statements, credit reports, and risk assessment methodologies is essential. Proficiency in loan software, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office is required. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and professionally are critical. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while meeting deadlines. A background in working with commercial or business lending portfolios and experience in risk identification and mitigation are considered advantageous. A proactive mindset and excellent interpersonal skills will support success in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to evaluate the creditworthiness of business members’ requests.
  • Perform initial credit analysis to ensure compliance with credit union policies and guidelines.
  • Prepare clear and concise credit presentations to support lending decisions.
  • Monitor loan collateral, valuations, and inspections to ensure adherence to loan agreements and covenants.
  • Assist lenders with ongoing portfolio management and the administration of problem loans.
  • Develop and maintain reports on members’ credit obligations and financial performance metrics.
  • Gather and organize financial data directly from members as needed to support analysis.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and reporting within credit and loan management systems.
  • Participate in special projects and contribute to team initiatives aimed at improving credit processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams to support comprehensive credit evaluations and risk management.
