Job summary

BTC Bank in Chillicothe, MO is seeking a Credit Analyst to evaluate the financial condition of loan applicants and prepare analyses, spreadsheets, and loan memos for officers.

You will analyze financial statements, tax returns, and collateral, spread figures with Moody's software, and support lenders and loan committees. This full-time, on-site role includes a Saturday rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Agriculture or related field.
• Experience with Moody's credit analysis software is highly preferred.
• Three to five years of credit analyst experience and/or training.
• Excellent financial analysis skills with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
• Advanced knowledge of commercial, agricultural, construction, real estate and consumer loan processing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and monitor the creditworthiness of bank customers.
• Spread financial statements and prepare preliminary analyses for lenders.
• Prepare loan memoranda for presentation to lenders and loan committees.

Job Purpose

Evaluates the financial condition of individuals and businesses applying for credit with the financial institution. Prepares spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for institution officers on new, renewal, and existing loans.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for analyzing and monitoring the creditworthiness of the bank’s customers. Analyzes financial statements, tax returns and bank references to evaluate the financial condition of individuals and businesses applying for credit with the bank.
• Obtains loan request information from the agricultural lender or borrower to analyze credit information, financial statements and other related information pertaining to the loan.
• Researches background documentation and reviews personal and business financial statements and tax returns.
• Analyzes financial information and prepares the preliminary analysis for the lender.
• Uses Moody's software to spread financial statements, analyzes borrower financial information and support the preparation of credit analyses.
• Requests and obtains financial statements from existing borrowers.
• Reviews and prepares written analyses, spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions. Prepares or assists in the preparation of loan memoranda for presentation to lenders and/or loan committees.
• Reviews loan files to ensure completeness and that all collateral has been properly secured.
• Assists lenders with calls on past-due loans as assigned by senior management with the bank’s loan portfolio.
• Updates collateral values as needed on delinquent loans.
• Follows all applicable laws and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Experience with Moody's credit analysis software is highly preferred.
• Three to five years of related credit analyst experience and/or training.
