Job summary

Native American Bank is seeking a seasoned Credit Analysis Lead to oversee the credit analysis function and prepare memos for complex transactions.

The role also advises on credit policy, procedures, and practices, leads the Credit Analyst Team, and collaborates with the CCO and VP of Credit to refine policies while staying current with industry and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business-related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Minimum 10+ years banking experience in advanced commercial credit analysis and/or lending activities.
• Strong credit analysis, economics/finance and risk assessment capabilities.
• Solid knowledge of loan documentation, policy and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with precise technical reporting ability.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook; detail oriented and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Lead credit department projects related to process improvement and system implementations.
• Screen commercial applications, structure loans and set covenants per policy.
• Train and supervise the Credit Analyst Team.
• Collaborate with CCO and VP of Credit on Allowance for Loan & Lease Loss calculations.
• Help develop new credit policies and procedures.
• Stay current on industry trends, regulations and best practices in credit analysis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the Credit Analysis work at Native American Bank and leading the analysis and preparation of credit memos for complex transactions. In addition, this role will advise the development of credit policy, procedures, and practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead special credit department projects related to process improvement, systems implementation and management.
• Participate in commercial application screening, loan structuring, and covenant setting with focus on adherence to loan policy.
• Provide training for and oversee work of Credit Analyst Team.
• In concert with CCO and VP of Credit, participate in calculation of the bank’s Allowance for Loan & Lease Loss Calculation.
• In concert with Chief Credit Officer and VP-Credit help develop new policies and procedures related to credit department.
• Stay current on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in credit analysis.
• Performs functions specific to the position and other duties as assigned.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business-related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
• A minimum of 10+ years of banking experience in advanced commercial credit analysis and/or lending activities in Lending analysis is required for this position.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
