Job summary

Valley Hospital Medical Center is seeking a credentialing professional to manage initial appointments and reappointments for licensed practitioners across the Valley Health System. The role requires thorough knowledge of credentialing standards and regulatory guidelines, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the credentialing process.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in medical staff services, and preferred certifications.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical staff services experience in ambulatory care, managed care, and/or physician office setting.
• Certification as a professional in medical staff services and/or quality management preferred.
• Substantial knowledge of medical staff functions, bylaws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures, accreditation standards (JCAHO), and federal/state law.

Responsibilities

• Execute the daily processes of credentialing for initial appointments and reappointments of licensed practitioners and allied health professionals.
• Maintain current knowledge of credentialing regulations and compliance requirements.

Job Description:

Responsible for executing the daily processes of The Valley Health System Credentialing Verification Organization, to include the initial appointment and reappointment of all licensed practitioners and allied health professionals and keeping current on new credentialing regulations.

Qualifications

Education:

High School or equivalent preferred. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years medical staff services experience in an ambulatory care, managed care, and/or physician office setting required.

Technical Skills:

Computer proficiency to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, and internet.

License/Certification:

Certification as a professional in medical staff services and/or quality management preferred.

Other:

Substantial knowledge of medical staff functions and processes, bylaws, rules/ regulations, policies and procedures, accreditation standards of the Joint Commission for Healthcare Accreditation Organization (JCAHO), and federal/state law.
