Job summary

Altea Healthcare is seeking an Onboarding & Credentialing Specialist (Facility and Provider) to coordinate the onboarding, credentialing and orientation of new providers within the medical group, working with providers, facilities and third-party partners.

Responsibilities include establishing EMR access, coordinating facility credentialing, supporting providers through the probationary period, and delivering weekly status reports; the role reports to the Director of Onboarding and Credentialing.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of healthcare and credentialing experience.
  • 1 year of medical records experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience working with physicians and facility credentialing is preferred.

  • Establish EMR access and credentialing with contracted facilities and required access.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to providers through the probationary period.
  • Provide weekly reports on onboarding status and open positions.
  • Coordinate with third-party billing and credentialing company to ensure processes are in place.
  • Maintain annual credentialing compliance with third-party companies.
  • Maintain in-house EMR functionality and assist providers with troubleshooting and training.
  • Assist providers with e-prescribing and contracted EMR access as needed.
  • Support contracted facilities with customer service needs as directed.
  • Work with providers, call center and departments to ensure staffing and scheduling are met monthly and daily.

Job description

The Onboarding & Credentialing Specialist (Facility and Provider) is responsible for the initial onboarding, credentialing and orientation of new providers in the medical group. This position works in direct coordination with providers, contracted facilities and third-party organizations to ensure credentialing processes are successfully achieved to establish provider onboarding within the medical group and practice in contracted facilities. This position will work with contracted locations to ensure that appropriate access and credentialing is completed for individual providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the initial onboarding and credentialing of new providers within the medical group.
  • Responsible for establishing EMR access, obtaining credentialing with contracted facilities, contracted EMR access, and other required access as needed.
  • Ongoing training and support to providers through the probationary period.
  • Provide weekly reports on the status of onboarding, hiring, and open positions. May work directly with talent acquisition team for staffing needs.
  • Work directly with 3rd party billing and credentialing company to ensure credentialing and billing processes are in place. Provide status reports.
  • Maintain annual credentialing compliance in conjunction with 3rd party companies.
  • Maintain in-house EMR functionality and assist medical providers with troubleshooting and training as needed.
  • Assist medical providers with e-prescribing and contracted EMR access as needed.
  • Support contracted facilities with customer service needs as directed and required.
  • Work with providers, call center, and department to ensure staffing and scheduling are completed monthly and daily needs are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and healthcare software
  • 1-3 years of healthcare and credentialing experience. Nursing home experience preferred.
  • 1 year of medical records experience in a healthcare setting.
