Job summary

Golden State Orthopedics & Spine in Fremont, CA is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to manage full-cycle provider credentialing and re-credentialing, ensuring accurate applications, timely submissions, and proactive license tracking. You will maintain licenses, certifications, and required documents, monitor expirations, and keep the MODIO credentialing database up to date.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 2+ years in a medical office, and solid Excel and EMR/EHR experience.

• Work and Excel experience (required).
• EHR/EMR experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Preparing credentialing and re-credentialing applications on behalf of physicians/providers
• Completing provider credentialing and re-credentialing applications; monitor applications and follow-ups as needed
• Gathering, organizing, and maintaining copies of current state licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage and any other required credentialing documents for all providers
• Tracking license and certification expirations for all providers to ensure timely renewals
• Maintaining and updating credentials in MODIO credentialing database

About the Role

The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing the full cycle of provider credentialing

and re-credentialing, ensuring all applications are accurately prepared, submitted, and monitored

through completion. This role maintains up-to-date records of licenses, certifications, and required

documents, proactively tracking expirations to prevent lapses. The Credentialing Specialist also

updates and manages provider information in the MODIO credentialing database to ensure

compliance with all regulatory and organizational requirements.

What You'll Do
