Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a Credentialing Program Assistant to support the C&P process for VAMC clinical staff and to ensure accurate VetPro data.

The role emphasizes primary-source verification and compliance with VHA directives to safeguard patient care. The incumbent will assist the C&P Manager, draft credentialing policies, review applications for completeness, and guide staff through documentation for privileges, licensure, and board certifications to maintain

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in credentialing (C&P) processes and medical staff bylaws.
• Experience managing provider applications for privileges and renewals.
• Guidance on establishing privileges and ensuring primary-source verification (licenses, DEA, certifications).
• Ability to review documents for omissions and inconsistencies, and to document privileging actions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME on C&P for routine and complex matters related to provider competence and OPPE/FPPE.
• Assist in developing short- and long-term goals for the credentialing mission.
• Draft local credentialing processes and Medical Staff Bylaws to comply with regulations.
• Review VetPro reports to identify issues requiring follow-up.
• Maintain accurate provider data in VetPro and ensure current licensure and certifications.
