Job summary

Ascension Northwest Hills Surgical Hospital in Austin, TX is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to lead the full-cycle credentialing and re-credentialing for healthcare providers, ensuring timely onboarding and ongoing compliance.

You will maintain provider records, collaborate with licensing agencies and carriers, monitor license renewals, and align activities with accreditation standards to support high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • Credentialing specialist with full-cycle credentialing experience for healthcare providers.
  • Maintain provider records to support regulatory standards and accreditation.
  • Experience with NPDB querying and MD Staff database is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full-cycle credentialing and re-credentialing process for healthcare providers to ensure timely onboarding and ongoing compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and current provider records to support organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with internal staff, licensing agencies, and insurance carriers to resolve application discrepancies and accelerate enrollment.
  • Monitor state medical license renewals and status updates to guarantee all clinical staff remain active and compliant.
  • Ensure all department activities align with healthcare accreditation standards to support high-quality patient care environments.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
    • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
What additional preferences we're seeking

Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or CPMSM certification.

Experience with National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) querying and MD Staff database.

Experience with Google Workspace.
