Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician for a part-time or per diem role in Bradenton, FL. The position offers flexible scheduling in an emergency department and requires the CVT/LVT/RVT credential with at least 2 years of ER experience.

Qualifications

  • CVT/LVT/RVT required.
  • Minimum 2 years veterinary technician experience, preferably in Emergency Medicine.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency patient care, restraint, anesthesia, phlebotomy, lab procedures, pharmacology, and diagnostic imaging.
  • Experience with emergency triage and critical patient monitoring preferred.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced emergency environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to exceptional patient care.
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Triage incoming emergency patients using sound clinical judgment.
  • Perform physical assessments and monitor hospitalized patients.
  • Administer subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications while recognizing potential adverse effects.
  • Set up, monitor, and manage intravenous fluid therapy and blood transfusions.
  • Perform advanced technical procedures including venipuncture, catheter placement, ultrasonography assistance, paracentesis, and laboratory sample collection.
  • Collect diagnostic samples and perform in-house laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging.
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care including catheter management, tube placement, oxygen therapy, and advanced monitoring.
  • Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery for high-risk patients.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and communicate with veterinarians and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced technical procedures including venipuncture, catheter placement, ultrasonography assistance, paracentesis, and laboratory sample collection.
  • Collect diagnostic samples and perform in-house laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging.
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care, including urinary catheter management, nasogastric tube placement, oxygen therapy, chest tube management, and advanced patient monitoring.
  • Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, recovery, and mechanical ventilation for high-risk patients.
  • Perform advanced vascular access techniques, including jugular, central, arterial, and intraosseous catheter placement.
  • Participate in patient rounds to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with veterinarians and team members.
  • Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care while supporting clients during emergency situations.
