Timberlake Veterinary Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join a compassionate, experienced team. The hospital offers a 3,000 sq ft facility in a busy plaza and a supportive culture.

The role includes providing patient care, maintaining medical records, assisting veterinarians in surgeries and dental procedures, and performing routine labs. Eligible for a sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CVT or License (LVT) required.
• Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.
• At least two years of prior veterinary experience; prior surgery experience desired.

Responsabilités

• Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones.
• Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy.
• Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Perform physical assessments and record your observations.
• Prepare estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients.
• Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions.
• Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform the inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered.
• Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids).
• Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery.
• Executes treatment orders, including collecting urine samples and administering medications.
• Runs lab work including CBC, Chem, LYTES and urinalysis, preps samples for external processing.
