Job summary

Woodlake Animal Hospital in Midlothian, Virginia seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join a high-quality, integrative veterinary team. The role supports veterinarians and the medical team to deliver compassionate care to pets and their families.

A strong emphasis is on maintaining medical standards, patient safety, and client education. The technician performs nursing care, anesthesia monitoring, diagnostics, radiology, and client education in a fast-paced, high-touch practice with AAHA

Qualifications

• Licensed/Certified/Registered Veterinary Technician credential required.
• Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, laboratory procedures, radiology and dentistry.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to navigate practice management software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to hospitalized patients, including IV catheter placement, CRI management, medication administration, feeding tube placement, and monitoring.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures with proper restraint and patient monitoring.
• Perform laboratory diagnostics (urinalysis, hematology, fecals, cytology) and document results.
• Operate diagnostic equipment (radiology, ultrasound) safely and effectively.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per regulations.
• Maintain accurate controlled drug logs and proper storage of substances.
• Support medical recordkeeping, charge entry, and chart auditing.
