Job summary

Broadway Animal Hospital in Edgewater, IL, is seeking a credentialed veterinary technician to join our experienced team. You will support veterinarians in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, lab work, and client education in a state-of-the-art facility.

This is a full-time position with pay ranging from $24 to $26 per hour DOE. The team values compassion, collaboration, and clear communication as we provide high-quality care for pets in our community.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician (state) required.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist heavier lifts.
• OSHA safety techniques and PPE compliance.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office familiarity.
• Strong math for medication dosages.
• Excellent communication for patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine and surgery as needed.
• Take histories, vital signs, weights, and educate clients during outpatient exams.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vitals during procedures.
• Collect blood, stool samples and perform in-hospital labs.
• Take and maintain radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Clean and restock exam rooms and labs; maintain equipment.
• Demonstrate warmth and professionalism with clients and patients.
• Communicate with veterinarians and staff about plans and concerns.
• Other duties as assigned.
