Heart + Paw in Ridgely, MD is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join a collaborative, pet-focused team. You’ll assist veterinarians, manage patient histories, and help with surgeries in a modern facility.

This role requires veterinary technician licensure in the state and 1–2 years of clinical experience. Preferred certifications like Fear Free or HABRI, strong client communication, and stamina to lift 20+ lbs are valued.

Qualifications

• Licensure required: Veterinary Technician licensure in this state.
• Experience: 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Certifications (Preferred): Fear Free and HABRI certification or a willingness to achieve them.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with routine appointments, surgeries, and patient care.
• Collect and process diagnostic samples, administer medications, and prepare for surgeries.
• Record detailed patient histories and manage pharmaceutical inventories.
• Take and interpret radiographs, including dental X-rays, and perform ultrasonic dental cleanings.
• Monitor general anesthesia, dress wounds, and assist with procedures like catheterization and ear flushes.
• Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and treatment areas.
• Educate clients on preventive care, dental hygiene, nutrition, and more.
• Collaborate with the team to create a positive work environment and assist with onboarding new employees.
• Champion the company brand by promoting services like grooming, daycare, and retail offerings.
