Job summary

Berea College is seeking a Creative Technologist and Makerspace Manager to oversee the Dr. Ann Evans Makerspace in the CMIT Building. The role includes managing daily operations, inventory, and safety while mentoring student workers and supporting technology‑integrated curricular enrichment.

Responsibilities include leading projects, collaborating with faculty, and coordinating schedules to enable safe, inclusive access. A Bachelor's in a related field is required; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of directly related makerspace leadership or management experience.
• Experience with desktop fabrication equipment and CNC tools; familiarity with 3D printing.
• Experience creating maker education activities or curriculum enrichment for learners.
• Strong service orientation and collaboration across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Directly oversee makerspace operations and train users on safe tool use.
• Maintain materials inventory, digital records, and space usage tracking.
• Troubleshoot equipment, perform basic repairs, and ensure safety protocols.
• Coordinate schedules, supervise student workers, and supervise access hours.
• Lead or collaborate on interdisciplinary creative technology projects.
