Explicitly calls out "vibe coding" and AI-assisted rapid prototyping—role centers on using vibe coding with AI assistants to quickly build demos.
About the Role
Instrument is hiring a hands-on Creative Technologist (contract) to rapidly prototype and ship AI-powered demos and interactive experiences using emerging models and AI-assisted development workflows. The role focuses on turning new AI capabilities—particularly within Google's Gemini ecosystem—into polished, shareable prototypes and developer-facing demos.
Role
Instrument is seeking an embedded, hands-on Creative Technologist (contract) to rapidly turn emerging AI capabilities into compelling, functional experiences. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary creative teams to move from exploration to working prototypes, demos, and short-form outputs that showcase what new AI models can do.
Key Responsibilities
- Rapidly concept, prototype, and ship AI-powered demos tied to emerging models, capabilities, and use cases.
- Stay current with developments in generative AI and quickly explore new models, APIs, tools, and capabilities.
- Use AI-assisted development, “vibe coding,” and rapid experimentation to move from idea to working experience.
- Build functional prototypes, lightweight apps, interactive experiences, and developer-facing demos.
- Translate experiments into outputs across formats: working code, screen recordings, short-form social content, technical tutorials, and open-source repos.
- Partner closely with creative, design, engineering, and production teams and iterate quickly based on feedback.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in creative technology, prototyping, or creative development with a portfolio of functional prototypes or interactive experiments.
- Meaningful hands-on experience with Gemini and Google’s AI developer ecosystem (models, APIs, tools).
- Familiarity with generative AI, LLMs, multimodal models, and AI-assisted development workflows.
- Strong coding and prototyping skills using modern front-end frameworks and development tools.
- Comfortable experimenting with newly released models and working independently from ambiguous ideas to polished prototypes.
- Strong communication skills and ability to create developer-facing content, tutorials, and shareable creative outputs.
- Contract length: ASAP – February 26, 2027
- Commitment: 40 hours/week
Compensation
- Expected contract pay range: $74–109 per hour (regionally adjusted across US1, US2, US3 tiers).
- Contract compensation determined by location, experience, and skillset.
Note
- Benefits may be available in accordance with applicable law and company policy, based on hours worked and duration of assignment.
