The Max Letters is a story-by-mail experience for children, designed to inspire imagination, connection, and a love for reading. Delivered through beautifully crafted, illustrated letters, our stories arrive in children’s mailboxes across the U.S. and beyond — slow, surprising, and full of wonder.

We’re a small, passionate team building a brand that families treasure. Most of our growth has come through Facebook ads — but we’ve hit a bottleneck. We haven’t had the time to create fresh, strategic organic or paid creative content. We know that the right partner here can change everything.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Creative Strategist to own our full content and ad creative pipeline — someone who combines sharp marketing instincts with a deep love of storytelling and design.

You will manage the creative calendar, write and produce short-form videos, organize our asset library, and develop original paid ad concepts that speak directly to the hearts of parents.

This is not a churn-and-burn content job. It’s a chance to become the creative steward of a magical, story-driven brand . You should have experience in direct-to-consumer marketing — and be ready to own this role fully, not just follow direction.

You’ll work with our existing footage and visuals, identify what’s missing, and help us continually produce creative that feels fresh, beautiful, and emotionally resonant. Whether or not you do the editing yourself, you’ll need strong instincts around pacing, storytelling, and visuals.

THIS ISN’T THE ROLE FOR YOU IF…

You specialize in flashy, text-heavy, hyper-masculine “Hormozi-style” short-form content. We’re not looking for quantity or viral hacks.

Our ideal hire is likely someone with a creative or design background — maybe even in writing or film — who understands how to build a brand slowly and meaningfully , with intention and emotional depth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Creation & Strategy

  • Deliver high-quality short-form video posts weekly (IG, FB, TikTok)
  • Develop Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ad creative batches monthly
  • 1 unique concept per batch
  • 2–3 variations per concept (visuals, hooks, format)
  • Write emotionally powerful hooks, headlines, and captions
  • Build stories that spark connection and curiosity
  • Apply marketing fundamentals — messaging hierarchy, flow, CTA, etc.
  • Produce content yourself (Canva, CapCut, Adobe) or manage an editor

Asset Library & Creative Ops

  • Review and organize all existing brand visuals
  • Build and maintain a structured, tagged content library
  • Identify visual opportunities and gaps

Creative Leadership

  • Keep a consistent, on-brand content calendar
  • Propose themes, hooks, and creative test ideas
  • Contribute as a high-level thinker — we want your instincts
REQUIREMENTS
  • Portfolio that shows exceptional short-form storytelling
  • Experience creating for parent-focused, emotionally driven DTC brands
  • Strong copywriting skills and understanding of hooks
  • Working knowledge of paid ad creative strategy (Meta/IG)
  • Solid grasp of design and video editing tools (or ability to brief well)
  • Self-managed, dependable, and collaborative
  • Bonus: background in writing, film, or visual arts
DELIVERABLES & CREATIVE OUTPUT

We believe in quality over quantity. You’ll maintain a steady rhythm of output , with flexibility built in as creative strategy evolves.

Typical Monthly Output Includes:

  • Organic Social Posts
  • Short-form video posts per week (TikTok, FB, IG, YouTube Shorts)
  • Formats may include: storytelling videos, voiceover carousels, message-driven reels, or other creative formats
  • Each post should deliver emotional resonance, on-brand tone, and visual polish
  • Ad Creative Batches (Meta/Facebook)
  • Each batch includes 1 concept with 2–3 variations (copy, hook, or visuals)
  • May include video, carousel, or static formats based on testing priorities

Ongoing

  • Keep our visual asset library organized and usable
  • Continuously repurpose, evolve, and propose new content ideas based on what’s performing
BUDGET & COMPENSATION

Compensation will depend on your level of experience

  • $1,800–$2,400/month (USD)
