Job summary

RiverWoods Exeter is seeking a Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The role focuses on high-quality scratch cooking, developing new recipes, and supporting residents and guests with exceptional meals.

Typical schedule is Tuesday-Saturday, 11am–7:30pm, with potential for earlier shifts across kitchens to support operations. We value creativity, consistency, and a strong culinary leadership presence.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience is required.
• Minimum of three (3) years as a sous chef in a hotel, restaurant, hospital, or school is preferred.
• ServSafe Certification is preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, forecast, communicate and oversee production to ensure timely, la minute service.
• Be present and engaged in directing and supporting meal preparation and service.
• Plan daily production meetings with the team to review menus, quantities, techniques and procedures.
• Provide on-the-job culinary training for production and utility staff.
• Contribute to menu development and culinary innovations.
• Participate in the resident-run Dining Committee.
