Job summary

Adventure Treks is seeking a part-time Social Media Coordinator to manage and grow our social channels, turning a large library of photos and videos into compelling reels, stories, carousels, and posts for teens and families.

You’ll work with directors on marketing priorities, plan content calendars, and own day-to-day content creation and posting. The role offers a potential full-time summer stint in Washington state.

Qualifications

• Several years of professional experience managing social media for a business, organization, or brand.
• Demonstrated experience creating and editing short-form video.
• Deep understanding of TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, including reels, stories, carousels, scheduling tools, and current platform best practices.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Strong judgment and common sense, including the ability to make sound day-to-day decisions independently.
• Strong visual judgment and attention to detail.
• Comfort learning new platforms, tools, and technology.
• Permanent work authorization in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain social media content calendars.
• Create, edit, scheduling, and publishing engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, and other relevant platforms.
• Create reels and other short-form video using our extensive photo and video library.
• Create stories, carousels, photo posts, and other platform-appropriate content.
• Write engaging captions that reflect the Adventure Treks brand, voice, and values.
• Identify strong content from our photo and video library and repurpose it throughout the year.
• Develop recurring content themes and series that tell the Adventure Treks story.
• Adapt content for teen programs and adult/family travel audiences.
• Monitor social media trends and identify opportunities for our brands.
• Engage with comments, mentions, and our online community.
• Track social media performance and use insights to improve future content.
• Help identify opportunities to collect better photo, video, and storytelling content from our programs.
• Collaborate with the director team on seasonal campaigns and marketing initiatives.
• Assist with related content and marketing projects as needed.
