LionStone Care in Morris Plains, NJ is seeking an Activities Aide to assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational and therapeutic activities for residents in our memory care setting. You will work with the Activities Director to tailor programs that promote social, physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.

The role emphasizes compassionate interaction, safety, and accurate documentation of attendance and participation.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous experience in activities coordination, recreation, or working with the elderly in a healthcare or community setting is preferred but not required.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; patience, empathy, and a caring attitude toward older adults; ability to work independently and as part of a team; creativity and enthusiasm in developing and leading engaging activities; basic computer skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Activity Planning: Help plan and organize daily, weekly, and monthly activity schedules that cater to the physical, mental, and social well-being of residents.
• Lead and Facilitate Activities: Assist in setting up, leading, and overseeing group activities such as games, arts and crafts, music sessions, exercise programs, and special events.
• Resident Interaction: Build relationships with residents, showing care and compassion while supporting their emotional and social needs.
• Documentation: Assist with documenting resident attendance, preferences, and participation levels in various activities.
• Set-Up and Clean-Up: Prepare activity rooms or spaces by arranging furniture, gathering necessary supplies, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
• Special Event Support: Assist in organizing and running special events such as holiday celebrations, outings, or family nights.
