Job summary

CareRite Centers, LLC is seeking a Recreation Therapist to develop and implement therapeutic activity programs for residents. You will coordinate creative, individualized plans, assess needs and document progress in MDS/Point Click Care systems.

Strong interpersonal skills, energy and creativity are essential; bilingual abilities are a plus. Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in therapeutic recreation and certifications (CTRS/LCAT) or eligibility are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Masters Degree from an accredited College, as required for licensure or Certification.
• TRS, CTRS or LCAT are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Creative Recreation Therapist will develop, coordinate and implement programs for residents.
• Perform daily assessments to tailor activities to individual care plans.
• Promote activities to engage residents and maintain interest.
• Assist with on and off unit events and on-unit parties.
• Coordinate activities with other Rec. Therapists and staff.
• Transport residents to off-unit and outdoor programs, including outdoor trips.
• Attend events and ensure calendars and decorations are prepared.
• Create monthly calendars aligned with residents' abilities, interests and experiences.
• Identify and requisition supplies for planned activities.

Recreation Therapist

As the Recreation Therapistyou will develop, coordinate and implement programs and services for residentsto provide a therapeutic environment that maintains each resident’s highest level of cognitive, physical, social and psychological well being.

Applicant must be a CTRS,LCATor is eligible for their CTRS certification. Applicant must be energetic, enthusiastic, and creativewith good interpersonal and communication skills, good medical documentation skills, with knowledge of the M.D.S and Point Click Care documentation. Applicant must have at least 1-2 years experience in the field. Applicant must be knowledgeable aboutthe MDS and other Therapeutic Recreation documentation. Bilingual is a plus.

Recreation Therapist Job Description:

• Creative individual with ability to think outside of the box working with residents.
• Knowledge of MDS, care plans and electronic medical record preferred. Must be computer literate.
• Perform daily assessments of residents to determine programs according to individual plan of care.
• Promote activities in a way that piques residents.
• Assist with on and off unit events.
• Coordinate on unit parties and work with other Rec. Therapist.
• Transport residents to off unit and outdoor programs.
• Attend outdoor trips with residents.
• Assist with calendar preparation and execution of events and programs
• Create and ensures monthly program calendar is designed and implemented based on residents abilities, interests hobbies, religions and work/volunteer experience
• Decorate monthly bulletin boards and create monthly seasonal unit decorations.
• Identify and place requisitions from supervisor for needed supplies for planned activities.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor (Memory Care Director/Therapeutic Recreation Director

Recreation Therapist Requirements/Qualifications:

Applicant must have a Bachelor’s or Masters Degree from an accredited College, as required for licensure or Certification. TRS,CTRS or LCAT are welcome.

• Ability to multi task and manage time effectively. Ability to play an instrument a plus.
• 1-2 years experience

Pay Rate: Up to $19 an hour (Based on Experience)
