Job summary

RRD is seeking a Project Manager in Atlanta to serve as the primary liaison between clients and the Creative/Production teams. You will manage scheduling, estimating, job details, tracking, and invoicing while ensuring service excellence and account satisfaction.

You will lead day-to-day project management, coordinating resources, tracking progress, and maintaining milestones within the client project tracking system, while aligning with budgets and timelines across multiple campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5–7 years in project management with increasing responsibilities.
  • Background in premedia or print industry preferred.
  • Strong Mac skills and ability to learn new programs.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and solution-driven mindset.
  • Experience using metrics to track performance.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary day to day liaison between clients and internal creative and production teams.
  • Apply knowledge of catalog/retail, packaging, and print production workflows.
  • Manage projects, including scheduling, estimating, obtaining job detail information, and invoicing.
  • Promote excellent customer service with proactive communications on project status.
  • Assemble resources/departments to implement client campaigns.
  • Enter and track data related to work components in client project tracking system.
  • Manage multiple timelines and projects through lifecycle stages.
  • Peer proofing to ensure specifications accuracy.
  • Lead day-to-day management and optimization of projects in job management software.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Creative Services areas: design, print production, prepress.
  • Attend client meetings and set status calls with resources from Creative Services.
  • Maintain client and print production contact to set milestones, estimates, schedules, and progress.

Job Description

As a Project Manager, you will be the key liaison between our clients and our Creative/Production team. You will be expected to manage projects including scheduling, estimating, obtaining job detail information, job tracking, invoicing and must be proactive, quick thinking, a problem solver and ultraorganized, ensuring account satisfaction and service excellence. The Project Manager will manage the day-to-day execution and optimization of Creative Services projects - assessing marketing needs, determining goals and coordinating projects. This includes resolving and escalating issues and barriers.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as primary day to day liaison between clients and internal creative and production teams.
  • Apply a broad knowledge of catalog/retail, packaging, and print production workflows.
  • Manage projects, including scheduling, estimating, obtaining job detail information, and invoicing.
  • Establish and promote excellent customer service through effective and proactive communications to inform clients and other stakeholders on project status.
  • Assemble appropriate resources/departments required to successfully implement a customer campaign
  • Enter and track a high volume of data related work components and updates to client project tracking system
  • Effectively manage multiple timelines and projects at various stages of a project life cycle
  • Peer Proof creative to ensure accuracy of specifications.
  • Lead day-to-day management and optimization of projects, entering specifications using job management software, and ensure proper priority is given to each job to meet client expectations.
  • Demonstrate understanding in each area of Creative Services including design, print production and prepress.
  • Attend and set relevant client meetings, production and project management status calls bringing in appropriate resources from Creative Services as needed.
  • Maintain contact with clients and print production to set project milestones, create project estimates, tracks schedules, advise on job progress, scheduling concerns, and any requests for additional information or materials, when required.
  • Maintain pre-set deadlines and produce innovative design while understanding and adhering to client’s budgets for individual projects.
  • Track and report on quality metrics and strategize with the client to develop customer loyalty. Trains other employees as needed.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent working experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in project management or comparable experiencewith progressively expanding responsibilities.

Skills and Certifications:

  • Background in the premedia and/or print industry strongly preferred.
  • Excellent Mac computer skills; ability to learn new programs, and ability to provide basic troubleshooting.
  • Must be proactive, collaborative, driven and seek excellence in execution of tasks.
  • Experience in utilizing continuous improvement tools to create and track metrics.
  • Complete understanding of the “Big Picture” which allows the individual to problem-solve, analyze potential solutions and use sound judgment to make good business decisions.
  • Ability to interpret and understand clients’ expectations and guide creative and production teams.
  • Strong project management skills, organizational skills and time-management skills.
  • Proven track record with strong and effective client relationships and solution delivery.
  • Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to listen for understanding.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across multiple timelines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; experience and ability to work with cross-functional teams, internally and client-side.
  • Ability to anticipate needs on behalf of the client, not only to serve the client but also increase volume and profitability.
  • Knowledge of administrative software, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Access; basic working knowledge of design or development skills/software (Adobe Creative Suite, including In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat)
  • Must have the ability to work independently and manage high volumes of information during high stress situations.
  • Demonstrate excellence in interpersonal skills, especially in situations involving consensus and team building with strong problem-solving skills.
Additional Information

RRD's current salary range for this role is $68,500 to $106,900/ year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD’s benefit offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental leave, adoption assistance, tuition assistance and employer/partner discounts.
