Job summary

Michaels Stores is seeking an Event Coordinator for the CHI-NORRIDGE, IL store. You will plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) to deliver a fun, engaging guest experience and support smooth store operations.

You will help customers shop, assist with checkout, and promote rewards programs while adhering to store standards. Prior experience in retail or customer service is preferred, with a focus on safety and teamwork.

• Experience planning and coordinating events, including children's parties.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage guests of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients and store guests to provide a fun, creative experience.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in crafts; lead activities and face painting as needed.
• Handle administrative tasks such as emails, phone calls, and paperwork.
• Ensure events meet safety, cleanliness, and store standard procedures.
