Job summary

Michaels is seeking an enthusiastic Events Coordinator for our store in Monrovia, CA to plan and run kids’ parties and craft events. You’ll engage customers, assist with product discovery, and ensure a friendly checkout and store experience.

The role includes event coordination, cross-team communication, and adherence to store standards. You’ll work with families and guests of all ages, deliver fun, creative projects, and help grow the Michaels Rewards program while supporting Omni-channel

Qualifications

• Excellent people skills.
• Experience working with children and children’s events.
• Good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events within a Michaels store, including children's birthday parties.
• Provide friendly customer service and assist shoppers in finding products and solutions.
• Ensure fast and friendly checkout and complete store tasks as needed.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; answer emails and make calls.
• Coordinate event add-ons and ensure safety and cleanliness before/after events.
• Cross-trained in framing-related selling and production.
• Maintain store cleanliness and participate in stock and planogram processes.
