Job summary

The Variel seeks a Memory Care Life Enrichment Assistant to plan and lead activities for residents living with dementia or cognitive impairment. You will create engaging programs, maintain calendars, organize materials, and collaborate with the Memory Care team to tailor experiences to each resident.

The ideal candidate is creative, patient, and passionate about helping older adults engage meaningfully in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in activities, life enrichment, recreation, or related field.
• Experience with seniors, especially dementia, preferred.
• Passion for creating meaningful experiences for older adults.
• Creative, energetic, patient, and capable of leading activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Adobe products.
• Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging programs (arts/crafts, entertainment, social events, brain games).
• Create daily/weekly/monthly calendars and schedules.
• Assist with Memory Care newsletter content and resident highlights.
• Maintain activity materials and resources inventory.
• Introduce residents to appropriate technology programs and provide guidance.
• Train and support care staff in activity-related programs.
• Collaborate with Memory Care team to adapt activities to residents.
• Develop new ideas for meaningful engagement in Memory Care.
• Encourage participation respecting residents' preferences and comfort.
• Maintain a positive, engaging environment; attend meetings and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
