Job summary

TEGNA is seeking a Creative Marketing Producer to independently shoot, write, and edit promotional content for regional marketing. The role covers end-to-end production from concept to delivery across TV, digital, and social platforms.

The ideal candidate brings strong storytelling, branding and production techniques, with a willingness to travel to various markets in the region and work in a fast-paced 24/7 news environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in media production, film, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience in video production, including writing, shooting, and editing commercials or promotional content.
  • Proficiency with video production tools (cameras, lighting, sound equipment).
  • Advanced skills in video editing software (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to create high-quality marketing commercials.

Responsibilities

  • Concept Development: Collaborate with other creative producers and regional marketing director to develop creative concepts for marketing commercials that align with brand messaging and target audience.
  • Scriptwriting: Write clear, engaging, and persuasive scripts for marketing commercials, ensuring messaging supports the station's objectives.
  • Video Production (Shooting): Plan and execute video shoots including pre-production planning, setup lighting, audio, and camera equipment.
  • Video Editing: Edit raw footage into polished, professional marketing commercials using video editing software.
  • Field Collaboration: Work closely with regional marketing director, GM and news director to gather feedback and refine concepts.
  • Creative Direction: Manage the overall visual style of the marketing commercials, including framing, color grading, and motion graphics.
  • Post-Production: Add effects, graphics, music, and voiceovers to enhance effectiveness for TV, digital, social media.
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple projects, manage timelines and deliverables under tight deadlines.

Creative Marketing Producer

We are seeking a highly creative and versatile Creative Marketing Producer who can independently shoot, write, and edit compelling promotional content for various marketing within their region. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of storytelling, branding, and visual production techniques to create engaging content that resonates with local audiences and drives marketing objectives. This role involves end-to-end production, from concept creation and scriptwriting to shooting and editing.

Current driver's license and ability to operate news gathering vehicle to and from various locations is required.

Responsibilities
  • Concept Development: Collaborate with other creative producers and regional marketing director to develop creative concepts for marketing commercials that align with brand messaging and target audience.
  • Scriptwriting: Write clear, engaging, and persuasive scripts for marketing commercials, ensuring that the messaging is clear and supports the station's objectives.
  • Video Production (Shooting): Plan and execute video shoots including pre-production planning, setup lighting, audio, and camera equipment. Capture high-quality footage for marketing commercials across various platforms, including television, digital, and social media.
  • Video Editing: Edit raw footage into polished, professional marketing commercials using video editing software. Ensure smooth transitions, appropriate pacing, and alignment with the brand's tone and objectives.
  • Field Collaboration: Work closely with regional marketing director, general manager and news director to gather feedback and refine creative concepts throughout the production process. Maintain effective communication and manage expectations.
  • Creative Direction: Manage the overall visual style of the marketing commercials, including framing, composition, color grading, and motion graphics, ensuring the final product meets high production standards.
  • Post-Production: Add special effects, graphics, music, and voiceovers where needed to enhance the commercial's effectiveness. Ensure the final cut is optimized for various formats (TV, digital, social media).
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, managing timelines and deliverables. Work under tight deadlines to meet client needs and campaign launch dates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in media production, film, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience in video production, including writing, shooting, and editing commercials or promotional content.
  • Proficiency with video production tools (e.g., cameras, lighting, sound equipment).
  • Advanced skills in video editing software (Adobe Suite: Premiere, After E ects Photoshop). Experience working with cloud-based work operating systems and project management platforms to manage workflows, projects, and deadlines.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to create high-quality marketing commercials.
  • Experience with scriptwriting and storytelling for short-form content. Excellent visual storytelling skills and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage the full production process from start to finish. Must be flexible and responsive in a 24/7 news environment, with the ability to jump into breaking news and breaking weather coverage to produce timely promotional content, including occasional work outside of standard business hours.
  • Must be willing to travel to various markets in the region when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with clients and team members.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing strategies and social media advertising formats.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics, color grading, and sound design.
Pay Range

$33.65-$38.46 USD

TEGNA offers two medical plan options for full and part-time employees through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, as well as access to dental and eye care coverage; fertility, surrogacy and adoption assistance; disability and life insurance.

Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA's 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.

Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor's appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.

TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.
