Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in New York is seeking a Lighting Design Summer Intern to support our lighting design team on inspiring, collaborative projects. You will learn from seasoned professionals while contributing to design documentation, drawings, and presentations.

This role offers hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Revit, AGI, and Photoshop, plus the EDT program for full-time engineers after graduation; you’ll gain exposure to industry events, lunch-and-learn sessions, and a supportive, diverse

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or Architectural Engineering
• Must be at least in your second year of bachelor’s degree
• Previous lighting internship or co-op experience is a significant benefit
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required or preferred
• Experience or basic knowledge of REVIT is expected
• Proficiency in AGI lighting calculation software and Photoshop is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist designers in preparing design documentation
• Prepare AutoCAD and Revit drawings of lighting design systems
• Assist designers with design calculations utilizing AGI software
• Participate in field investigations and construction site visits to verify design documents
• Assist with developing conceptual lighting design presentations using Photoshop
• Participate in industry events and lighting design lunch & learns with manufacturers
