Job summary

Getty Images is seeking a Creative Insights Researcher in New York to synthesize diverse data into actionable visual insights for internal and external audiences. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to identify content needs and opportunities, while collating feedback and supporting revenue-driven engagement.

The role emphasizes qualitative and quantitative analysis, collaboration with creative teams, and staying ahead of trends in art and culture to guide shoot planning and brief

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years in advertising/marketing, research, photography, or related fields.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint (and/or Keynote) and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling and impactful insights by synthesizing qualitative and quantitative findings for internal and external audiences.
  • Conduct qualitative visual analysis of multi-format creative content to identify themes and customer trends.
  • Mine external sources for unique insights to inform creative content strategy.
  • Create subject-area lightboxes in our CMS to support visual and content analysis.
  • Support the Creative Insights team by collating relevant customer feedback.
  • Archive tear sheets and visual references from marketing/advertising publications.

Getty Images is hiring a Creative Insights Researcher to join our team in New York.

The Creative team provides customers with original, relevant, and contemporary visuals. Through an industry-unique combination of consumer research, proprietary data, and three decades of trend reporting experience, the team delivers actionable insights that guide customers to the visual content that connects with consumers. Closely collaborating with our contributor base of photographers, videographers, and illustrators around the world, the team develops market leading, authentic, and differentiated content.

You are passionate about the way imagery works. You are naturally interested in visual communication in all forms and love discussing the content that you come across. You are equal parts creative and analytical. You enjoy research and are comfortable sharing what you know with the world at large. You are highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage the moving parts of multiple work streams operating simultaneously while still meeting deadlines. You are a creative problem-solver with the ability to quickly identify problems and work independently to find appropriate solutions. You have a pulse on what’s new and next in art and culture and are not afraid to share your insights and perspective with a multi-disciplinary creative team.

Research & Analysis
  • Develop compelling and impactful insights by synthesizing qualitative and quantitative findings for internal and external audiences.
  • Conduct qualitative visual analysis of multi-format creative content, identifying themes/patterns to determine customer trends, content needs and opportunities.
  • Mine external sources such as consumer research databases, world news, pop culture, advertising, fine art/photography for unique insights that will help internal and external partners understand how shifts in the global landscape will impact creative content.
  • Create subject-area lightboxes in our proprietary content management system to support visual and content analysis.
  • Support the Creative Insights teams by collating relevant customer feedback as available.
  • Find and archive relevant tear sheets/swipes/visual references from marketing/advertising and other related industry publications.
Content Development
  • Identify visual needs through research and analysis process to support our regional creative briefing strategy.
  • Collaborate with Creative Direction and Curation teams to ensure visuals created in collaboration with our contributor community meet our needs.
  • Provide regular updates on cultural, social, behavioral trends that impact visuals to help contextualize shoot planning and brief execution.
  • Prepare presentations of insights research to support Creative efforts to engage, upskill activate our contributor community.
Sales, Marketing & PR
  • Assist senior members of the Creative Insights team with the development of customer-facing presentations, marketing promotional materials, and other ad hoc requests.
  • Write compelling articles that reflects ongoing research conducted by the Creative Insights team and positions Getty Images as a creative thought leader.
  • Coordinate with Curation team to create boards and promotional sets of visuals that reflect our visual insights.
  • Support one-on-one customer meetings with customers to share our visual insights and creative expertise to drive revenue.
  • Act as spokesperson on webinars, events, panel discussions and media interviews as needed.
Qualifications
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a related field (e.g., advertising/marketing, research, photography, video, etc.)
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize and interpret large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data and turn them into visual insights.
  • Basic visual literacy with a broad understanding of photography as a medium, trends in popular culture (film, TV, music, art), global news, etc. Video/filmmaking knowledge is a plus but not required.
  • Intermediate quantitative data literacy and comfort with looking at sets of data and drawing relevant conclusions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas to different audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple distinct projects at the same time while still adhering to deadlines.
  • Experience thriving in a fast-moving, dynamic creative environment while not losing sight of critical details.
  • Positive, collaborative attitude with a passion for creative excellence.
  • Ability to balance being a key partner, who is empathic towards their peers and seeks consensus, with being a strong advocate and champion for data-driven decision making.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint (and/or Keynote) and Excel.
