Job summary

USPI Richmond, VA—PRN Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to join the operating room team. No weekends, no holidays, and no on-call requirements, offering predictable scheduling for skilled CSFAs with ortho experience and a passion for patient care.

The CSFA will provide traditional surgical assistance, collaborate with surgeons on complex procedures, maintain sterile technique, and help improve outcomes while complying with HIPAA and safety standards.

Qualifications

• CSFA certification is required.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ortho experience is preferred.
• Proven Surgical Assistant experience with a creative portfolio is expected.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide traditional surgical assistance (retracting, suturing, maintaining sterile field).
• Collaborate with surgeons to develop creative solutions for complex challenges.
• Apply techniques to enhance surgical procedures and outcomes.
• Contribute ideas to improve patient care, safety, and outcomes.
• Stay current with surgical advancements and best practices.
• Mentor colleagues and share creative insights and techniques.
