Job description

rednote (Xiaohongshu) is a leading lifestyle discovery platform in China, built on one belief: Everyday Wonder - that real, lived human experience is the most valuable thing on the internet.

Building on rednote's success in China, we are bringing this vision to a global audience through ren, a new product designed to bring artists, creative minds, and niche communities together. Centered on art, culture, and everyday discovery, ren aims to create a space where people can discover inspiring work, share their perspectives, and connect through their interests.

We are now in the early stages of building ren's artist community from the ground up. This is an opportunity to join a growing team, help shape the community in its earliest days, and explore how a new social product can connect people through creativity.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Creative Community Interns are connectors, curators, and creators who are genuinely immersed in art and creative culture. You may be an artist, designer, photographer, filmmaker, or simply someone who is deeply curious about the creative world and actively involved in its communities.

In this role, you will contribute to building ren's artist community through creator outreach, creative events, content creation, and research. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the team, bring your own ideas to the table, and gain hands-on experience in growing an early-stage consumer product.

Responsibilities
  • Creator Outreach & Community Building: Identify and connect with emerging artists and creators across disciplines, including visual art, photography, film, design, music, and performance. Build genuine relationships, invite creators to join ren, and support their onboarding and first posts on the platform.
  • Creative Events & Campaigns: Participate in the planning and execution of offline events and creative campaigns, such as artist gatherings, studio visits, pop-ups, and community meetups. Contribute ideas and help coordinate logistics and on-site execution to create engaging experiences for artists and the wider community.
  • Content Creation & Curation: Create and publish your own posts on ren to help establish the platform’s early content style and community atmosphere. Use your creative perspective to showcase what makes ren unique and give new creators relatable examples of the kinds of content they can share.
  • Research & Insights: Participate in user, market, and product research to better understand artists, creative communities, and their needs. Share observations and ideas that can inform community-building efforts, content direction, and product development.
Qualifications
  • Art & Creative Culture: You have an artistic background or a genuine passion for art and creative culture. You enjoy discovering emerging artists, exploring creative scenes, and understanding the stories behind their work.
  • Marketing Experience: You have experience in marketing, brand activation, creator partnerships, social media, or related areas. You are interested in how to introduce a new product to its target audience and turn creative ideas into meaningful engagement.
  • Community Sense: You have experience participating in or building communities, such as student organizations, creative collectives, art communities, or other interest-based groups. You know how to connect with people, build relationships, and create a sense of belonging.
  • Self-Starter: You take initiative, follow through on ideas, and are comfortable figuring things out in an early-stage environment where not everything is fully defined.
  • Growth Mindset: You are excited by the opportunity to help build a new product within a technology company. You value learning, enjoy taking on new challenges, and are motivated by the chance to grow alongside an emerging business.
  • Resourceful & Accountable: You are organized, reliable, and adaptable. You can manage your own tasks, communicate proactively, and take ownership of your contributions.
WHAT YOU GET
  • Compensation: Competitive salary. Details will be shared at the offer stage.
  • Career Development: Direct mentorship from the team, hands-on experience building an early-stage product and community, and a reference letter from rednote's Global Growth team.
  • Community & Network: Opportunities to connect with artists, creators across the US, as well as access to rednote's broader creator and growth network.
  • Growth Opportunities: Priority consideration for future internship extensions and full-time opportunities globally.
  • Perks: rednote Premium access and early access to new features and product updates.
