Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. in Newark, OH is seeking a Cake Decorator to create beautiful and tasty cakes, while delivering excellent guest service and helping the bakery team succeed. The role focuses on decorating and presenting pastries to ensure freshness and customer satisfaction.

As part of the Bakery team, you will decorate cakes, rotate stock, and support safety and sanitation standards to provide a consistently superior shopping experience for guests.

Qualifications

• Experience in cake decoration and cake presentation.
• Ability to provide friendly guest service and assist customers.
• Capacity to work effectively within a Bakery team and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Fill tables and cases with cakes by taking product from prep area to sales area.
• Take special orders from guests over the telephone and in person.
• Maintain quality of product for sale by checking sales area for dates and condition of product.
• Follow proper procedures to ensure store meets out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Decorate cakes and pastries, using icing and decorating tools.
• Prepare icing and products for cakes following recipes and portion control.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the bakery area.
• Provide exemplary customer service and assist guests in locating products.
• Support bakery team members and other areas as needed.
