Job summary

SpartanNash’s Family Fare store in Hudsonville, MI is seeking a Bakery Associate to decorate cakes and other bakery items, assist in daily bakery operations, and maintain a clean, well-stocked department.

You’ll follow all PPE, safety, food safety, and guest experience guidelines while providing friendly, efficient service and ensuring products meet quality standards. The role also includes pricing, dating, merchandising, stock receiving, and support across departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Decorate cakes, cookies and other items per production schedule and customer requests.
• Bake and fry items as assigned.
• Price, date, wrap and bag bakery products.
• Fill, rotate and merchandise bakery shelves, cases and displays.
• Notify Bakery Manager when products or supplies need ordering.
• Handle spoiled/damaged products per guidelines.
• Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking merchandise.
• Maintain knowledge of all department products and pricing.
• Practice suggestive selling with customers.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well stocked department.
• Follow PPE, safety, food safety and cleaning guidelines.
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
