Job summary

Food Lion in Poquoson, VA is hiring for a Deli Bakery team member to provide quality customer service, maintain department standards, and maximize sales through friendly, efficient service. You will follow safety and sanitation guidelines and work with ingredients, mixes and icings to prepare products.

The role requires reliable teamwork, the ability to learn multiple tasks, and physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Courteous and helpful to other associates
• Understand production standards for processing of all product
• Follow all technical manuals for processing of product, label placement, etc.
• Ensure proper sanitation of department, equipment and proper food handling/preparation
• Ensure that ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise is done in accordance with policies and guidelines
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with apron, complete with name badge, when on duty
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO
• Perform all other duties as assigned
