Job summary

Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group in Elmwood, Louisiana is seeking a temporary Builder/Maker to support fabrication of scenic builds, props, and set pieces for haunted attractions and live events. You will work with designers and shop leads to execute projects efficiently and safely.

You will handle production tasks in a fast-paced environment, using wood, foam, plastics, and basic metals while following safety guidelines and build plans. This role offers flexible hours based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in construction, fabrication, scenic building, or related field.
• Ability to use basic shop tools safely and effectively.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow direction.
• Flexibility to work varied hours based on production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and assembling scenic elements such as walls, platforms, props, and set pieces
• Work with a variety of materials including wood, foam, plastics, and basic metals
• Safely operate standard shop tools and equipment (saws, drills, sanders, etc.)
• Support event setup and teardown, including installation of scenic elements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
• Follow build plans, direction, and safety guidelines
• Assist with general shop needs and production support tasks as assigned
