Job summary

RTM Investments LLC in New York is seeking a dependable, motivated Baker / Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. The role focuses on preparing, baking, assembling, and decorating bakery products to meet established recipes and customer orders.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work both independently and with the bakery team, ensuring quality, consistency, freshness, and food safety across all products.

Qualifications

• Previous bakery, culinary, or commercial food-production experience preferred.
• Experience preparing a variety of breads and baked goods preferred.
• Cake decorating experience (buttercream, piping, fondant, gum paste) preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and written instructions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product consistency.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to complete responsibilities with limited supervision.
• Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Food Safety/Food Handler Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery products according to established recipes, procedures, and production schedules.
• Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, frostings, breads, and cakes as assigned.
• Bake products accurately and consistently while monitoring quality and appearance.
• Decorate cakes and other products using buttercream, fondant, gum paste, piping and other techniques.
• Follow daily prep lists, production sheets, recipes, and special-order instructions.
• Review customer orders to ensure accuracy, quality and presentation.
• Maintain attention to detail for custom orders.
• Assist other bakers, decorators, and team members as needed.
• Work independently and as part of the bakery team.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, labeling, and cleanliness procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation; handle equipment safely.
