Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals seeks a licensed Creative Arts Therapist to provide professional and supervisory services within the Creative Arts Therapy department. Responsibilities include developing and supervising therapy programs, conducting comprehensive assessments, and coordinating with the interdisciplinary team.

The role requires NYS licensure as a Creative Arts Therapist (or Limited Permit with licensure plan) and relevant professional experience in creative arts therapy.

Qualifications

• Valid License or Limited Permit issued by NYS Education Department to practice as a Creative Arts Therapist.
• Two years of full-time, paid, professional experience in creative arts therapy (Assignment Level II).
• Assignment Level III requires one additional year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and implements therapeutic programs using creative arts therapy.
• Conducts assessments of patients' social, cognitive, psychological, and physical functioning.
• Develops and implements treatment goals based on assessments.
• Implements interventions using art, music, drama, dance or poetry to support goals.
• Participates in interdisciplinary treatment teams and documents progress.
• Writes progress notes and maintains patient records and QA/PI activities.
• Supervises auxiliary staff and possibly volunteers, interns, and students.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
