Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in New York City is seeking a Creative Arts Therapist to deliver therapeutic services through art, music, drama, dance or poetry within an interdisciplinary treatment team.

Minimum qualifications include a valid NYSED license to practice as a Creative Arts Therapist; licensure within two years of appointment. Assignment levels II/III require two years of full-time professional experience, with an additional year for level III. Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Licensure within two years from date of appointment.
• Two years of full-time, paid, professional experience may be required for higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and implements creative arts therapy programs.
• Conducts assessments of patient strengths and functioning.
• Develops and implements treatment goals using art, music, drama, dance or poetry.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team to plan patient care.
• Prepares progress notes and maintains records; participates in QA/PI activities.
• Supervises staff, volunteers, interns as assigned.
