Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a qualified Creative Arts Therapist to provide therapeutic services using art, music, drama, dance or poetry. Under direction, you will develop and deliver group and individual therapies, assess patients, and participate in treatment planning with an interdisciplinary team.

You will maintain progress notes, reports, and QA/PI activities, and may supervise volunteers and interns. Licensure as an NYS Creative Arts Therapist is required.

Qualifications

• Valid NYS license or limited permit to practice creative arts therapy.
• Two years of full-time professional experience in creative arts therapy (Assignment Level II).
• Assignment Level III requires an additional year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements therapeutic group/individual therapy programs utilizing creative arts therapy.
• Assess patients' strengths and functioning to guide treatment planning.
• Write progress notes and maintain records; participate in QA/PI activities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment team to formulate comprehensive plans.
• Supervise volunteers, interns or auxiliary staff as assigned.
