Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY seeks a Creative Arts Therapist to provide individualized and group arts therapy for patients in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP). You will work within a multidisciplinary team to support emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning.

Strong preferences include Art Therapy background in psychiatric or crisis settings, current NYS licensure, and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Master's in Creative Arts Therapy or related field required.
• Current LCAT licensure in New York State and credential in a CRA modality.
• Formal internship completed in a Creative Arts Therapy discipline.
• ART therapy credentials and crisis/behavioral health experience preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' psychosocial and emotional needs using arts therapy.
• Develop individualized and group creative arts treatment plans with the team.
• Provide interventions to alleviate anxiety and promote coping.
• Lead therapeutic programming for emotional expression, socialization, and well‑being.
• Document patient progress and communicate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patients, families, staff on therapeutic benefits of arts interventions.
• Maintain licensure and engage in ongoing professional development.
• Participate in program development and quality improvement activities.
