Job summary

CalArts Community Arts Partnership (CAP) seeks a CAP Assistant Instructor to support the CAP Lead Instructor in delivering a 6-10 week in-school art residency for TK–12 youth at CAP partner sites across LA County. The role is highly collaborative and involves planning, prep, and student engagement.

The assistant instructor will teach multiple grade-level classes, attend trainings and site visits, and help with exhibitions or culminating activities, under CAP supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching K-12 students preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with instructors and staff.
• Willingness to attend training and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Assist CAP lead instructor with lesson plans and prep.
• Maintain a safe learning environment.
• Set up and break down equipment.
• Provide one-on-one support and monitor wellbeing.
• Log hours in PayCom and communicate with CAP staff.
• Assist with exhibitions and culminating events.
