Job summary

Prince-William-County-Government seeks a part-time Specialty Instructor to teach art classes for children and adults at the Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center. The role involves independent planning, supervision, safety, and delivering a high-quality arts experience.

Classes may occur in evenings or on weekends with opportunities for summer camps. Ideal candidates have strong arts & crafts background, enthusiasm for teaching, and experience with ages 14+.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required.
• Experience working with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate art lessons.
• Develop appreciation for the fine arts.
• Teach fundamental art concepts and techniques (color theory, perspective, composition).
• Encourage creativity and provide individual and group instruction.
• Observe and evaluate students’ progress.
• Communicate with parents about progress.
• Develop list of supplies and equipment needed for lessons.
