Job summary

Prince William County is seeking a Specialty Instructor to teach art classes for children and adults at the Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center. The role involves independent planning, supervision, safety, and delivering quality experiences in arts and crafts.

Responsibilities include planning age-appropriate lessons, teaching techniques, and evaluating progress while communicating with parents. Hours are evenings/weekends, with possible summer camps and an emphasis on customer service

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children in art and crafts preferred.
• Ability to teach evenings and weekends and be flexible for seasonal camps.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate art lessons.
• Develop an appreciation for the fine arts.
• Teach fundamental art concepts and techniques (color, perspective, composition).
• Encourage creativity and provide individual and group instruction.
• Observe and evaluate student progress and communicate with parents.
• Develop list of supplies and equipment for lessons.
