Job summary

Goldwater Care seeks an Activity Aide to help plan, implement and evaluate recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs for residents, in line with care plans and supervisor directions. Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating the activity programs and quality assurance for the Activities Department.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement; document progress.
• Develop and maintain good rapport with other departments to ensure activities run smoothly and in a warm environment.
• Prepare activity rooms/areas for scheduled programs and identify equipment/supply needs.
• Follow care plans to provide daily activities and assist with crafts and other resident needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and treat residents with dignity.
• Oversee residents during activities to promote physical, social, and mental well-being.
• Assist in-room residents with visits, writing letters, errands, and simple crafts.
