Aspire Senior Living Oak Grove is seeking a creative, energetic Activities Director to lead our resident activity and engagement program in Oak Grove, MO.

You will develop, coordinate, and oversee person-centered activities that support socialization, cognitive stimulation, emotional well-being, and physical activity, while guiding staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Experience in activities, recreation, therapeutic recreation, senior living, long-term care, or related setting preferred.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Program development, staff coordination, event planning, or budget management experience a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Creative and enthusiastic approach to resident programming and engagement.
• Genuine passion for working with older adults and enhancing their quality of life.
• Knowledge of activity planning and therapeutic recreation principles.
• Understanding of aging and dementia, including adapting programming to abilities.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with residents, families, team members, volunteers, and community partners.
• Basic computer skills for documentation, scheduling, calendars, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and evaluate engaging activities based on residents' interests, abilities, and needs.
• Lead the Activities Team with supervision, scheduling, training, and guidance.
• Create person-centered experiences considering cognitive and physical abilities.
• Plan special events: holidays, theme days, outings, and resident gatherings.
• Collaborate with Nursing, Therapy, Dietary, Social Services, and other departments.
• Promote resident engagement and a sense of belonging throughout the community.
• Build partnerships with local organizations, schools, churches, entertainers, and volunteers.
• Manage activity department budget and resources, including supplies and equipment.
• Ensure activity programming meets federal, state, and local requirements while safeguarding resident rights.
• Complete resident assessments, participation records, calendars, and progress notes.
• Support resident advocacy through care planning and Resident Council meetings.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, quality-improvement initiatives, and satisfaction efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
