Job summary

The-Country-Home-Memory-Care in Morris Plains, NJ is seeking an Activities Aide to assist in planning, organizing, and leading recreational and therapeutic activities for residents. You will work with the Activities Director to tailor programs to each resident's interests and abilities, promoting social, physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.

You will help schedule daily activities, lead group sessions, monitor safety, document participation, and support special events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in activities coordination, recreation, or elderly care preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, empathy and caring attitude toward older adults.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for leading engaging activities.
• Basic computer skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and organizing daily, weekly, and monthly activity schedules.
• Lead group activities such as games, arts and crafts, music sessions, exercise programs, and special events.
• Encourage resident participation and adapt activities for mobility and cognitive needs.
• Monitor residents' safety and well-being during activities.
• Document attendance, preferences, and participation levels per facility policies.
• Set up and clean activity spaces and ensure a welcoming environment.
• Assist with special events and coordinate with volunteers and staff.
