Job summary

Taurus Search is seeking an underwriting professional to manage commercial loan transactions from initial analysis through credit approval. The role focuses on rigorous credit assessment, cash flow modeling, and risk evaluation within a CRE context.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in commercial lending, formal credit training is a plus, and the ability to support prescreen decisions and deal structuring in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial lending environment in a credit-oriented and underwriting position.
• Formal credit-training is a plus
• Must have exposure to Commercial Real-Estate (CRE)

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new money transactions from initial analysis through credit approval.
• Review borrower financial spreads and perform preliminary credit analysis for prescreen decisions, including assessment of performance trends, leverage, cash flow sustainability, and key credit risks.
• Conduct underwriting analysis for new transactions, including cash flow modeling, sensitivity analysis, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
• Analyze transaction-specific factors, including property-level analysis, guarantor review, and assessment of structural risks.
• Coordinate and analyze interest rate and hedging assumptions when applicable and incorporate results into credit exposure analysis.
• Prepare loan amortization schedules and repayment profiles aligned with proposed deal structures.
