Job summary

Newmark Group, via its Spring11 affiliate, seeks a Capital Markets Associate in Atlanta to support commercial real estate securitization and advisory projects. You will review data tapes, build financial models, prepare offering documents, and coordinate with originators, lenders and rating agencies to ensure timely deal milestones.

The role requires 5+ years of structured finance experience, strong Excel/Intex/Bloomberg skills, and a Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in structured finance; CMBS or CLO transactions and prior securitization experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in finance-related field such as Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering or Mathematics
• Proficiency in Excel, experience with Intex, Bloomberg, or other fixed income analytical tools a strong plus; exposure to databases and/or programming languages a plus
• Firm understanding of finance, business operations, and mathematical/statistical modeling
• Detail oriented with a disciplined approach to process and quality control
• Strong communication skills to interact with partners, clients and rating agencies

Responsibilities

• Review loan-level data, credit memos, appraisals and other due-diligence materials to verify accuracy and completeness prior to securitization
• Analyze commercial real estate collateral, including property performance, lease structures and market conditions to assess credit quality
• Prepare and maintain financial models for securitized transactions, including cash flow projections and loan-level metrics
• Assist in drafting and reviewing large-loan write ups and offering documents for accuracy and data tapes for CMBS/CLO securitization
• Coordinate with originators, underwriters, legal counsel and accountants to ensure timely deal milestones
• Perform data reconciliations and quality control across internal systems
• Work with clients (banks, REITs, PE funds, hedge funds) to execute securitizations on principal or agented basis
