Job summary

Veritas Partners seeks a Director of Portfolio Management to lead the team responsible for monitoring a portfolio of commercial real estate loans and investments. You will oversee risk, reporting, and operations to ensure timely, accurate portfolio actions and compliance with loan agreements.

The role requires extensive lending and credit risk experience, the ability to identify issues early, and strong leadership to coordinate with internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years of lending, credit risk management or portfolio management experience with a commercial finance company or bank.
• Ability to raise potential issues quickly to Specialty Lending management.
• Willingness to read and interpret loan and legal documentation.
• Strong teamwork and collaborative mindset.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills with willingness to learn analysis methods.
• Understanding of accounting and finance with willingness to learn topics relevant to Specialty Finance.
• 20% travel to clients and internal portfolio meetings as needed (1–2 multi-day trips per month).

Responsibilities

• Monitor operating performance, financial condition, and credit risk for assigned loans.
• Act as primary daily contact with borrowers to build relationships and ensure loan compliance.
• Oversee borrower funding requests and construction draws with Construction monitoring group.
• Maintain loan documentation and credit files in the Bank's retention system.
• Manage workouts of sub-performing or nonperforming loans.
• Pursue parallel path resolutions or foreclosure when needed.
• Manage REO asset liquidations in a timely manner.
• Own processes: Loan Modifications, Approvals, and Maturities.
